Ivory Tower

I had always wanted to publish a magazine at Cambridge and during the Christmas holiday of my second year there I started planning Ivory Tower.

I raised over £10,000 in advertising, almost exclusively from law firms in the City, where I had good connections because of the internships I'd done, and we published enough copies to give one away to every undergraduate.

It was a huge amount of work and I had a team of around thirty writers and photographers to help me produce the 128 pages of what was really a book.

I was enormously proud when I took the participants of Don’t Skateboard to Cambridge to discover that the Rare Books Room of the University Library holds two copies of Ivory Tower. It has only one copy of Newton’s great work Principia. The picture below shows my delight at this disovery!
